No disks are available through mail order. ***************************************************************** SPECIFIC INFORMATION ABOUT THIS DISK This particular disk differs from all the others in that it is a catalog of what's on the other disks. This information is in a pure text (ASCII) file called NEW.TXT. You could look at it by entering the following: TYPE NEW.TXT However, this would scroll off the screen so fast that you couldn't read it. Instead, we recommend that you enter the following: LIST NEW.TXT This will show you the catalog one screenful at a time. By pushing the key, you can look at the next screenful. By pushing the key, you can look back at the previous screenful. Push the ? key (Shift /) to find other ways to look at this catalog. If you want a printed output, the simplest way is to enter the following: COPY NEW.TXT PRN Note that the ordering is by disk with files shown alphabetically within each disk grouping. If you want a totally alphabetical ordering (ALL files starting with "A" grouped together regardless of disk) enter the following: QSORT NEW.TXT NOTES: (1) You must first boot up without invoking RAM drives or memory resident programs! (2) This operation takes quite a while with no apparent disk or screen activity. Be patient; eventually it will get back to the DOS prompt. If later on, you wish to resort back into the original by-disk order, enter: QSORT NEW.TXT /20:7 For those of you who have dBASE III, we have included an empty NEW.DBF file which has the proper types and sizes for each of the fields. Enter dBASE and, after making sure you have enough room on your disk, enter the following: USE NEW APPEND FROM NEW.TXT SDF It should also be noted that not every file on every disk has been included in this listing because many are just auxiliary files used by a major program and would merely unnecessarily lengthen the size of this file. If you have a specific need for the complete file, contact the Software Exchange.
